A gem deposit has been discovered while developing a playground in an estate in Norwood, Hatton.
According to our correspondent, the discovery was made when clearing sand with the use of a backhoe
machine. The Sri Lanka Gem and Jewelery Authority is scheduled to clear the gem deposit.
When we made inquiries in this regard from the Norwood Police they stated that security has been provided to the area.
