The National Child Protection Authority has busted a massive international racket of selling children to locals and foreigners by raiding a ‘children’s home’ at Moratuwa and taking 70 children into its custody.
When the ‘children’s home’ was raided yesterday (23rd) evening a broker who helps in selling children, an American couple, a German couple and two local women had been present.
The ‘children’s home’ administered by nuns at Rawathawatta in Moratuwa had been maintained as a registered ‘home for children’ since 1984. |
